1. The first reading was about Joseph Laycock who was a high school teacher to was known as "at risk" students. At risk students are usually students that come from love income families and homes, and some of different races. Joseph Laycock studies martial arts and he tired to incorporate martial arts into his teachings. I thought that was cool because from my own personal experience with being a students I like when the teacher relates the lesson to something interesting. I really enjoyed the reading and I liked how Lacyock brought martial arts into everyday life.

2. Michael Oatman was a guy who was from the "streets" and although he was from the streets, education changed his life and he truly believe that. He always thought he would amount to nothing, but one poem changed everything. I thought this was cool and in a way inspiring to others who feel this way to make a change and believe in an education. Oatman began to things like talk about racism and politics. And because of the one change in his life he now wants to be a teacher, which I bet he never thought of before. I believe education is a great thing and can change you like and Michael Oatman is proof if this.

3. The last reading I really liked because it talked about this women who left her country and had to give up all her ways just to be and live in America. People like this amaze me, she learned 5 languages and worked in fabric store for 40 years. She was faced with so many obstacles but, she got passed them with endurance and patience which she was a firm believer in. This just goes to show that anybody can do anything as long as you are willing to push yourself but, also have patience.
